How to Search Logan County Recorder Deeds Online
Logan County links its recorded-document search to the CountyFusion system operated through Kofile.
The search is intended for researching recorded instruments such as deeds, mortgages, releases, liens and other land documents.
Use the Recorder’s county-linked search system to find document records.
After opening: follow these steps
-
Open the search interface.
Follow any access instructions displayed by CountyFusion. The portal may require a session or browser access step.
-
Choose an available search method.
Use a party name, recording reference or other supported field shown by the live portal.
-
Enter the information you know.
For a deed, search using the grantor or grantee name if that option is provided.
-
Review matching records.
Compare recording dates, document types and party names before selecting the correct result.
-
Open the recorded instrument.
Review the available index and image. Save the recording reference for any later copy request.
The CountyFusion login endpoint could not be fully inspected during this review. The link is supplied by Logan County’s official government website. Available search fields and image access should be confirmed in the live portal.
Search by property address instead
The Recorder’s document index and the Auditor’s real-estate database serve different purposes.
If you know an address but not the owner’s name, the Auditor’s search is usually a better starting point.
Search by parcel number, owner name or address.
Enter the property address, owner name or parcel number in the search field. Open the matching parcel and review its owner and property information.
Use the owner name or deed reference to continue researching the recorded instrument through CountyFusion.
What a recorded document tells you
Grantor: the party conveying or granting an interest.
Grantee: the party receiving the interest.
Instrument reference: the identifier used to find the recorded document.
Recording date: when the document entered the official public record.
Legal description: the property’s legally described land or interest.
Mortgage or release: evidence of a recorded security interest or its release.
A recorded document is evidence of a transaction or interest. Finding one deed does not, by itself, establish that the property has clear title.

How to Record a Deed in Logan County, Ohio
Recording a deed and transferring a parcel on the Auditor’s tax records are related but different steps.
A deed may require conveyance forms, legal-description review and Auditor processing before being accepted for recording.
Before you submit
Deed preparation: check the grantor, grantee, signatures and acknowledgment.
Legal description: compare the description with existing property and survey information.
Parcel identification: verify the correct parcel through the Auditor.
Conveyance forms: determine whether DTE 100 or DTE 100EX applies.
Recording format: check the county’s document standardization rules.
Payment: calculate the exact amount before visiting or mailing documents.
Logan County conveyance forms
The Auditor’s forms page includes DTE 100, the Real Property Conveyance Fee Statement of Value, and DTE 100EX, used for qualifying exempt conveyances.
DTE 100 identifies the grantor, grantee, property and transaction information. The Auditor may request supporting documents to verify reported values.
Official DTE 100, DTE 100EX and related real-estate forms.
Find the Real Estate Forms section. Select DTE 100 for a conveyance subject to that form, or DTE 100EX if the transaction qualifies for the exempt form.
Complete the applicable information and confirm supporting requirements with the Auditor before filing.
Survey and conveyance standards
Logan County publishes local Survey & Conveyance Standards. This is particularly important when a transfer involves a new survey, split or complex legal description.
The official standards document is available through the Auditor’s website. Ask the county whether your proposed transfer requires additional map or survey review.
Open Auditor survey and conveyance resources ↗Select Survey & Conveyance Standards. Check requirements affecting the legal description, parcel boundary or survey before finalizing the deed.
The Recorder records documents but does not guarantee their legal validity or that a transfer clears every lien. Seek a qualified Ohio attorney or title professional for deed preparation and title questions.

Practical troubleshooting
What to Do When You Cannot Find a Deed or Record
Only have the street address? Start with the Auditor’s address search to identify the parcel and listed owner.
Name search returns too many records? Narrow the results using the available date or document-type filters, if offered by the live portal.
Recently purchased the home? Check whether the deed has been recorded and indexed. Processing and display timing may differ.
Mortgage paid off? Search for a recorded mortgage release or satisfaction. A lender’s payoff letter is not itself proof that a release was recorded.
Record image will not open? Check browser access and the portal’s own instructions. Contact the Recorder if the image remains unavailable.
Wrong name or legal description? Determine whether the problem is in the deed itself or only in the Auditor’s parcel database.
Concerned about a lien? Review the recorded instrument and consult a title professional. A public search alone may not be a complete lien or title examination.
