Weber County’s official 2026 schedule lists $45 per standard instrument with up to 10 legal descriptions, regardless of the number of standard pages.

Standard recorded document $45
Each additional standard page $0
Additional legal description after 10 $2 each
Legal-size 8.5 × 14-inch page $2 extra per page

Property address versus legal description

A street address identifies where a property is located. A legal description identifies the land interest in a recorded instrument.

Do not substitute the street address or a short parcel description for the complete legal description required on a deed.

Avoid search and recording problems

Common Weber County Recorder Mistakes

Using an outdated $40 fee: the standard rate increased to $45 on May 6, 2026.

Expecting free abstract research: the detailed Title Abstract Search is a subscription service.

Missing the parcel number: Utah recording rules require applicable tax parcel information.

Incomplete legal description: a mailing address is not a substitute for a legal description.

Missing tax mailing address: the Recorder lists this among required recording elements.

Improper acknowledgment: deeds often require legally sufficient notarization.

Assuming a recorded deed can be edited: errors found after recording may require a new document and another fee.

Confusing the Assessor with the Recorder: valuation questions and recorded-title questions belong to different offices.
