This article covers Jasper County, Missouri. Jasper County Recorder offices in Iowa and other states operate separately.
Jasper County Recorder of Deeds Quick Facts

The Recorder also handles marriage-license services, military discharge recordings and certain state and federal tax liens.

Use the reference to purchase a document image or request an office-prepared copy.
Enter the guest credentials, locate the land-document index and search the relevant names. Keep the book and page numbers of the matching instrument.
Free index versus document images
The public guest search helps identify recorded instruments. The Recorder says document images can be obtained through a paid subscription or by contacting the office.
The county lists a $200 monthly subscription for image viewing and printing. This is primarily useful for title companies and other frequent researchers.
View Official Search and Purchase Instructions ↗What if you only know the property address?
Start with the Jasper County Assessor’s real estate information to identify the current or previous owner. Then search those names in the Recorder’s index.
Assessor Real Estate: 417-358-0440. For parcel mapping or GIS questions, call 417-237-1015.
Find Assessor and GIS Contacts ↗Locate the Real Estate Assessor or GIS department. Use the property address to identify the owner and parcel, then continue in iCounty.
Why a recorded deed may not appear immediately
The Recorder notes that its online index contains documents that have been recorded, indexed, verified and released for public viewing.
A document may already have an official recording number but still be waiting for indexing or release. If a newly filed deed is missing, ask the submitting title company for its recording details before assuming it was rejected.
